Apartments can be slow for a number of reasons
- Lifts – best case scenario, you have a dedicated lift key – you book the lift for us and only us to use, and on top of that you are near the lift on your level, and the lower level lift takes us near to the truck. Sometimes we get all of the above, which is amazing, sometimes we don’t, obviously this has a massive impact on the time required.
- Parking/access – Linked to the above, quite often we have to take everything down into the basement in order to walk it up an exit ramp to get to where the truck is parked on the street – this can mean it literally takes 10 minutes on average to get any given item from your apartment to the lift and then from the lift to the truck.
- Tight spaces – usually this is less of an issue, but some apartments are very tight – hard to get items out of the apartment door and in some cases impossible to get items into the lift – we’ve seen apartments where a mattress can’t fit into the lift before. When things don’t fit in the lift, they are going to have to go down several flights of stairs.
